Jerry - thanks for the quick response. By way of background, I am an Electrical Engineer which may support any technical questions that may be raised. I work at a hydro power power plant, but I'm very interested many energy issues. Let me know how I might be able to help.
Jerry, Den Dwyer here; I got a letter from Brian Higgins back in Oct.
his of 10-21-08; he talks of the many efforts he is making in the area of
"reduction of our reliance on foreign oil". He talks of many "things" he and the congress are and will do in this area. I just look to the congress and the Idea that you can build an internal combustion engine JUST BY PASSING A BILL / LAW SAYING THAT OUR I C E, WILL GET 35 MPH. If they (congress) really think a law passing will produce such an engine, I've got some land down south I'm going to sell them; but we must go at low tide.:
Gods speed, Dennis R. Dwyer. I will fax letter to you if you wish.
Jerry, thanks for your note. I signed up with TBP due to a full bore fire in my belly for the plan and my own long standing feelings in this area .
I sent an E-mail to TBP with the Idea of having "THE PLAN" become a for- real political party. With the last election there may be a good chance that a new party could make it in the U S A. that format may make things happen much faster than what has been put forward so far. Best reguards, Dennis R. Dwyer.

PICKENS U We are recruiting "Campus Coordinators" for colleges and universities to represent the Pickens Plan on campus. We are looking for someone who can create a college page on the Pickens Plan site and also on Facebook encouraging folks to sign up for the Pickens Plan.
If you are connected to a college or university in your state, can be a campus coordinator, or can help find a campus coordinator, please let me know so we can get the process rolling.

Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I am a retired lawyer. I was a long-time partner in one of this country's 200 largest law firms, prior to my retirement in 2007. I worked in the field of environmental compliance, remediation and risk management in the context of development, mergers, acquisitions, and business operations for many years. I understand the public policy, the law, the science and the engineering of environmental protection, as well as the economic realities and limits of commercial implementation of emerging technology. I was appointed some years ago to the New York State Clean Air Act Small Business Compliance Assistance Panel by the Minority Leader of the New York State Assembly and to the NYS Bar Association's Commerce and Industry Steering Committee by a former NYSBA President. I have also been tangentially involved in politics as a ward chairman in Buffalo for a number of years and as a volunteer on many, too many, campaigns. I also represented Bob Dole on a pro bono basis in NYS election law matters. I'd like to think that I could be of some substantive help to this effort.
What excites you about this campaign?
Since leaving the practice of law, I have a great deal of time on my hands. I would like to devote some of that time to worthy public policy initiatives, in a pro bono effort to "give something back" to the country that has treated me so well. Alternative energy sources, multi-source generation and distributed generation of energy (which vastly diminish transportation and/or distribution costs and point source vulnerability) are best not only for energy independence, but also for national security in the era of international terrorism. Mr. Pickens' effort seems to me to be based on sound public policy and relies upon sound engineering principles, based on existing technology. It is the only effort that appears to have a real possibility of success.
What do you want to do to help?
I'm not sure. I could certainly speak publicly on behalf of the plan in any forum, large or small. I might also be helpful substantively, as a volunteer in political and public outreach, to the extent my health permits (I have had some heart problems, so my days of going door to door are long ago over). If there are any other ways my experience might be useful, just let me know.
