2009 Rocky Mountain Hydrogen Drive
Cross-Country road trip to "Drive Hydrogen Home"

February 15, 2009 -- Salt Lake City, UT

Father and son team, Tai and Charlie Robinson, of Intergalactic American Fuel Vehicles (AFV) departed today on a gasoline-free adventure in a multi-fuel vehicle that can utilize hydrogen, methane (natural gas), or ethanol as fuel. The pair are joined by Sterling Allan, founder of the New Energy Congress, to demonstrate and educate about renewable energy products, energy efficiency measures and cleaner fuels on their round trip.

As the primary destination of the Continuing Hydrogen & Clean Fuel Education Tour, the team will appear live on the EveryDay with Marcus and Lisa TV show Tuesday morning 11:00 am Eastern, February 17, 2009. (See PESN story.) EveryDay is part of the FamilyNet TV network in Atlanta, GA, and airs on 200 television stations around the country. If you want to watch it live, click here to see what local affiliate station in your area carry the show.

Tuesday afternoon, the team will meet with Mayoral candidate Mary Norwood to take a hydrogen powered tour of downtown Atlanta in the 2008 Intergalactic Space Cruiser that the team is driving.

"Through rain, through sleet, through snow, we will drive hydrogen home," says Tai. The team will travel through Wyoming today with an expected blizzard. However, Tai is confident this 4-wheel drive vehicle will get the team to their destination safely, all while producing cleaner air out the exhaust pipe than the ambient air in any metropolitan city the world over.

"Pit-Stops" for fuel are scheduled in: Salt Lake, Draper and Park City, Utah; Evanston, Rock Springs and Cheyene, Wyoming; Gothenburg, Kearney and Omah, Nebraska; Kansas City, Kansas; St. Louis, Missouri; Evansville, Indiana; Nashville and Chatanooga, Tennessee; and Atlanta, Georgia. Although hydrogen, (H2) is available at all the industrial gas suppliers along the route, the trip will primarily be powered by compressed natural gas (CNG), and ethanol (E85), fuels.

On the return trip, "Pit-Stops" are also scheduled for Birminghan, Alabama and Topeka, Kansas. The team is available for radio and TV interviews as they "Drive Clean" around the country.

About the New Energy Congress

The NEC was founded by Sterling Allan 3.5 years ago as a global association of experts who review the most promising new and emerging energy technologies. They publish The Global Top 100 Clean Energy Technologies list, a publically available resource that is generated from a continuous professional review process taking into consideration a number of criteria including: environmental impact, sustainability, cost benefits, reliability, scalability, safety, and availability. They also facilitate the emergence of promising new technologies that may have difficulty gaining assistance through more traditional means. Tai Robinson is a founding member of the NEC.
